Course Title

The Raksana Method - Functional Movement Program

Course Description

The Raksana Method - Functional Movement Program is a comprehensive 13-week, 36.0-credit-hour continuing education program that provides a structured, principle-driven framework for integrating yoga-based functional movement into chiropractic neuromuscular rehabilitation practice.

The course is organized around 33 sequential and interrelated movement principles called the Raksana Principles. Together, these principles provide a clinically applicable system for assessing, teaching, and progressing functional movement for patients presenting with low back pain, joint dysfunction, cervicogenic tension, hip mobility restriction, shoulder restriction, and related movement limitations.

The course combines asynchronous self-paced learning through Thinkific with required live online sessions through Zoom or an equivalent live video platform.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Analyze the anatomical and biomechanical basis of the 33 Raksana Principles in relation to common musculoskeletal conditions treated in chiropractic practice.

2. Apply principles of neuromuscular re-education, spinal stabilization, diaphragmatic breath mechanics, and myofascial tensegrity to clinical assessment and movement prescription.

3. Demonstrate proficiency in performing, cueing, and safely modifying selected yoga-based functional movement postures and techniques from the Raksana curriculum.

4. Evaluate patient case presentations and construct individualized, principle-based yoga movement intervention plans.

5. Synthesize knowledge of proprioceptive neural pathways, vestibular integration, balance re-education, and motor learning principles to design movement rehabilitation progressions.

6. Demonstrate commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centered functional movement practice.

Teaching Methods

Teaching methods include recorded video lectures, asynchronous Thinkific modules, required live online sessions, weekly quizzes, clinical application worksheets, movement demonstrations, case-based learning, participant interaction, live proctored assessments, and instructor feedback.
